Chapter 11: The Dance
Movement and Trusting Your Body
Dancing:
- You make emotional contact with yourself and others
- Provides an emotional release as well as altered states of conciousness
- Helps you confront a perceived weakness and informs all movement
- The trancelike state of dancing helps you access it’s healing power
- Dance in any manner you enjoy or join a class e.g. salsa, rumba, tango, two-step, ballroom

Drawing, Painting, Sculpture and Creating Your Vision
Drawing, Painting, Sculpting:
- Provides the opportunity to relieve tension and express internal and external truths
- Channels the spiritual aspects of culture.
- Let go of the idea of talent (or lack thereof) to reach Zen-like expression
- Including the entire body into drawing and painting helps you access deeper layers of creativity
- An inexpensive and practical way to emotional wellness
- Invokes our innocence and allows us to reclaim who we truly are
- Find a place in your home with enough room for your materials and a certain amount of privacy
- Don’t limit yourself to the materials you use to draw, paint, or sculpt
